The B/E Aerospace GI Jive Festival is back bigger and better for 2016!
This week long festival kicks off with the main event at Mourne Esplanade on 30 July which will be all swinging and all jiving! The main event will then be followed by smallers events throughout the week such as talks, exhibitions and guided tours of the old Greencastle Airfield (ending 5 August 2016).
Come along on 30 July to enjoy fabulous swing music from Swingabella and Nightswing, vintage fashion shows by Living Vintage, wartime re-enactments by the Wartime Living History Association, interact with original WWII vehicles and memorabillia from War Years Remembered, climb into the cockpit of a replica Spitfire with Ulster Aviation Society, enjoy a fly past a by local flying club, take part in our 1940s themed fancy dress compeition, view beautiful vintage cars, learn to swing and jive with our professional dancers, explore and enjoy our marquee full of craft and artisan food stalls, learn to cook in our seafood marquee, watch celebrity chefs cook your favourite dishes along with much, much more. There is something for everyone at GI Jive, even for those who simply want to relax on the grass and soak up the sun in the lovely family-friendly atmosphere!
